The summit
A collaborative network will emerge at MEDITeH Beyond 2024 to provide support and momentum for medical and scientific development programs for digital health and telemedicine services. These collaborations will be organized by sharing the multidisciplinary work of the network’s member delegates representing their own countries in the Mediterranean, Africa and the Middle East.
Currently, MEDITeH Network member countries are Albania, Algeria, Croatia, Cyprus, Jordan, Greece, Italy, Malta, Morocco, Montenegro, Saudi Arabia, Slovenia, Tunisia and Turkey.
The Summit is open to research insitutes, Universities, Healthcare Institutes, companies, Insitutions, e-Health and telemedicine experts.
MEDITeH Beyond will be held in English, French and Italian and will be partially live-streamed.
Summary
Especially in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, technological, telemedicine and e-Health tools have proved to be crucial in the creation of a global health network capable of responding to emergencies promptly, enabling the bridging of distances, overcoming geographic obstacles.
MEDITeH Beyond was created to facilitate meetings between Institutions (Ministries, Embassies), companies engaged in the scientific-technological sector in healthcare, and representatives of scientific and technological research (National Bodies, Research Institutes, and Universities).
The Summit aims to spread knowledge on the topics of digital innovation, its potential, its application in healthcare and the implementation of telemedicine services in the Mediterranean, Africa and the Middle East and it’s the first step in building a lasting collaborative network for the development of medicine through digital technology.
A crucial part of the Summit will be working tables on vertical topics conducted in workshop mode. These discussions will be aimed at analyzing current needs and future scenarios, sharing and identifying best cases and successful experiences as statements that will be used for the drafting of a position paper.
Professor Francesco Gabbrielli (Professor of e-Health at San Raffaele University of Rome and Director National Centre for Telemedicine Guidelines SIT) will chair the Scientific Committee.
